I thought I'd shed some light on what a typical day looks like for us in Rexburg, that way we can all compare together how different, or surprisingly similar, life in China may be.
Drew usually wakes up around 7, gets ready, and heads off to work while the kids and I are still asleep. When we get it up, our schedule is pretty standard- We eat breakfast, unload the dishes and I take Ellie to preschool. While she's at school, I like to get some cleaning done around the house, and Grant is pretty good about playing on his own. Ellie's only at school for 2 hour, so that goes by quick! I pick her up, do any out of the house errands that need to be run, and then come home and make lunch. At this point, I try to do something with the kids, let them play outside (we end up at grandma's a lot to jump on the trampoline), and then they get screen time while I cook dinner. Drew will come home around 5:30, we'll eat, relax a little, and then its bed time for the kids.
I'm not going to lie, we still have not figured out bedtime, so by the time we get the kids to bed, its late, we're exhausted, and Drew and I call it a night as well. It's not very exciting, I know, but it's what we did, day in and day out. Sometimes we'd try to shake things up a bit and go out to eat, or go bowling, but we've done pretty much everything there is to do in Rexburg at this point, and we're looking forward to a different pace.
The amazing people we've met here will be missed, as well as the safety of our community, but whats life without a little adventure?
